I am trying to come up with one graphic to represent "Experience and Innovation"

I have come up with ideas relating to experience and innovation individually, but I am having trouble finding one image to represent both.

You people are great with some really cool ideas, so I thought I would ask if you could respond with any ideas.

You do not have to include an image, you can just describe it.

Experience is something you earn through time, and an approximate guess is that the clock with all technical parts and practical use and importance for MANY people is sort of very innovative.

So.. a classic alarm clock perhaps?
