ok, basicly windows are controlling my windows now,

never used too and i dont like it, i cant get my old MSN email account working, i'd click on the butterfly and get a pop-up with all my @msn.com accounts on it, i have to go through windows live now to get my emails, that's all good and fine, but i dont get the little pop-ups telling i got an IM from psc, Ebay wants to give me something fantastic for free, ect.
sorry if i'm slow responding, i dont get notification when some wants a chat on messenger either.
everytime i try to register on msn they try to charge me £60 a year for primium, no way around it, i've followed it all the way to the credit card page,

any help???

Do you need the XP welcome screen back?
Control Panel - Users - Change the way users log on or off - [check] Use the Welcome screen

Don't know about the MSN thing

You probably turned it off, either this way or through some registry hack. Check if it's on (the checkmark in that window) - it needs to be 'on' to get the welcome screen with the user icons

My son has Vista on his computer and now our computers can't get connected in the house system anymore, because the Vista security tells his computer that my computer is a threat. No more sharing pictures etc. Its TOO stupid for words.... Why should a program rule your life?

I thought the MSN browser was being killed-off by Microsoft? Or are you talking about MSN Messenger and some bells-and-whistles thing? I asked my Messenger tech support crew (my teens and their teen friends). They all agreed that, as long as you were signed into MSN Messenger, you could get pop-up alerts about emails. So maybe that's the issue? I don't use Messenger (actually I don't really IM anymore) so I'm not much help there. Confused
