...and for a little extra control of screenshots. Grab a little app called hoversnap.
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/hoversnap.html
Lets you do full screens, active windows, or box selections and saves them as a file designated by you. Automatically generates filenames etc. Saves them to your chosen location.

"Are you using a PC or a Mac?

If a Mac it's:-

>Shift/Command+4>... that gives you a cross-hair cursor to drag over any part of your selected screen image. Drag and release that bounding box, and it'll copy only that area you have selected. (Which should pop up on your desktop as a PNG pic file).
Now find it and just drag that new little page icon into good 'ol PS and it should open up as easy, as whore on pay-night!

Life sooo much easier with a Mac Mike Wink

PrintKey 2000 is free also and you can save in different formats. Crop, etc.

I just did a tutorial thread for Blue Lurker's BUSH (see elsewhere) and without the MAC's ease of doing screen shots I'd have given up LONG ago! (perhaps I should have anyway!) Razz

Having used PC's for years, I gotta admit that (as Arcaico pointed out above) the PRINT SCREEN button / go to photoshop / CNTRL+N / Hit OK / CNTRL+V thing worked well and fast once you got the groove on.

But that cross-hair thing on a MAC is sweet and then I just drag the thing into PS and I'm rocking.

NOTE: It is also NORMAL to want to shoot your screen if you regularly use a PC. Twisted Evil Raising Brow Razz
