It's ok to have a 19 vote chop. You'll live.

Now..with the pen tool, when I pull an anchor point..the lines of it stay straight...is there some way to make them pull in a curve?

this happens sometimes. My grumpiness is so all-encompassing, it glombs onto others and make them grumpy about stuff too. Sorry, my apologies...it's totally all my fault.

I avoid all this nastyness and bitter in-fighting by simply NOT entering in any contests any more. That way I don't suffer from self-doubt as an artist and I also avoid that nasty spectre of friendlessness.
