Maybe I'm the only one here that's ever been a factory worker?
I'll put it this way--
When every Homag in the US suddenly is at the wrong time--
factorys will be closing down for a day or more allover the country--
Then there's all the automatic clocks that are gonna steal pay hours away from workers,
maybe by the millions, and
how about banking??
Automatic deposits , again possibly by the millions, are not going to be made on time ,
or possibly at all since that hour won't exist--
maybe that'll crash some systems
and if anyone thinks all the banks in the US are gonna manage to
get the software written and installed to handle this in the next few weeks,
well, it aint gonna happen.
I'd like to see all the bank managers when they show up to work and all the "clocked" safes won't open.
Who aside from Me uses after-market remote controls on all your appliances?
Good Luck re-setting those clocks!!! Smile

SO? Did daylight savings actually happen today or in two weeks--
congress passed the changes months ago-
yet I never heard anything about it again since.
Question Confused Question
*edit*
FOUND IT!
Daylight-saving time returns the first Sunday in April.

Congress has voted to change the dates for daylight-saving time, but those changes won't take effect until 2007.

Do not worry the goverment will take good care of us, especially in Canada where taking it from the rear is a way of life. So don't worry sleep in.

Why not make it DST all the time, just change the name of the time zones

Reinman, you being in the PST will have to come up with your own time zone. For some reason I think you are already there! And god love for the Reinman for that.

Maybe it´s time you had some problems!

(I erased everything I wrote because I said nasty things only because I´m too angry today with what happened here because of Bush´s visit to my country).

OK, hers my take on D.L.S.T.

I have always thought it was BACKWARDS, at least in energy savings terms.

If you have the system we do NOW any time you switch the time, kets say in the fall for example, it starts getting dark earlier. So the sun sets sooner making it get colder faster. What do you have to do then? TURN UP THE HEAT!!!

In the spring and summer it stay light longer, heat stays longer, A/C has to run more.

Not to mention that if you REVERSED the time shift to GAIN in the fall and LOSE in the SPRING it would sort of normalize the amount of daylight throughtout the entire year.

I know I would rather have a small 1-2 hour differnce in time that the sun sets than the crap we get in December when its dark at 4:30pm!!

we all know daylight savings time sucks. It saves no daylight at all and that extra hour of sleep is total B.S. because we all use that extra hour DRINKING at the bar. daylight savings time is science's version of American football's 'prevent defense' which John Madden says "Only prevents you from winning". I've been contemplating this for a while and I think I've come up with the best actual daylight savings time idea ever. the clocks will speed up between the hours of 9AM and 5 PM on weekdays and will slow down afterwards. This way we will be able to get in an 8 hour work day in 4 hours instead of 8 and we will get an extra 2 hours of daylight before and after work. In order to do this we must all concentrate more at work and take no cigarette, coffee or lunch breaks and only check our personal emails 4 times an hour. trust me, you won't miss the cigarettes after a few days, you won't need the coffee because the clocks will be moving faster and this will give you the "illusion of caffeine", and by not eating your supersize happy meals, you will have less work to do later on at the gym and more money to spend on important things like recreational drugs and on PSC advantage. The only drawback is no more chopping while you are supposed to be working.... wait a minute, what the $#$%^ am I saying????

i blame the scotts, it's dim up north and gets darker earlier, lighter later, the scotts farmers demanded the extra hour mornings daylight so they could bring the cows in for milking in daylight, a scotts teacher told me it's so school kids can get to school safely in the morning, but i saw through his lies Confused
