Hey TJ: if it was $7 here i'd still be smoking like a chimney...

I'm really glad I was forced to quit. I'm doing it cold turkey btw and it's getting better day by day!
I get the pangs now and then, but there are days I don't even thing about cigarettes.

Good luck to those who are trying to rid themselves of nicotine.

Won't happen.
I'll will be cremated... smoking till the end! Cool

You WANT to be cremated... that's not really up to you to decide... unless you die in a fire... but that's not likely to happen.

As an e-cig customer for 3 years, I am quite satisfied. I've had several different models. Basically, the best advice is to get one with a tank cartridge, that way you don't have to refill the liquid for hours, otherwise you have to drip liquid on a filtered system every 10 minutes which is annoying. Also, avoid the models that look like actual cigarettes, those are junk! The batteries don't last. I recommend a big battery, and get one with a USB port at the tip, so you can plug it in while using it at the computer, in your car, etc, so that you won't need a separate charger and an extra battery for full-day vaping. The best models end up looking more like a small or medium cigar.

Beware of scams.... The internet is booming with affiliate offers for companies trying to give these away for free, only to charge your credit card $100s after a trial period is over. There should be no trial or subscription of any kind! They are a total rip off. Just find an independent supplier of the hardware you need.

Atomizers burn out over a few weeks, so you stock up on those. Batteries last at least a year, and you need to stock up on e-liquid since that's what you are consuming. Overall, I pay about $40 a month for supplies.

When you find a good model to replace your regular cigarettes, you'll find that you'll still crave a regular cigarette from time to time at first, due to your body being addicted to a handful of the carcinogens in burned tobacco. This fades over time, because when you give in to have a real cigarette, it tastes like crap. You'll eventually hate everything about real cigarettes. Vaping tastes so much better,(I like flavors like Peach, Caramel, or Strawberry) you can use it indoors, and it doesn't stink up your hands, clothes or anything else.

These things will save lives. I no longer wake up hacking up a lung. I can run long distances just fine. The act of smoking is 50% of the habit; E-Cigs are great for satisfying that. Is it safe? Way safer than smoking, but not quite as safe as just quitting completely. You can use an E-Cig to ween off of nicotine. The liquid has nicotine, but you can reduce the dose incrementally to zero nicotine levels if you wish. They have to be marketed as a smoking cessation device in order to avoid heavy taxation and regulation. A customer can use nicotine liquid for a lifetime he/she chooses assuming these things don't get banned which some regions are trying to do.

One of the weird benefits of vaping is that I find I don't get sick very often, especially colds. Maybe I'm completely off on this, but the vapor seems to be a factor.

Keep it up TJ. 4 then 6 then 8 (minutes) then another beer Laughing

Thanks glennhanna, good info. So now I am Vaping, never heard that before. Not getting sick? Bonus!! Here is a link to the brand I use. The batteries have a lifetime guarantee and the cartridges are competitive. http://thebestvapor.com/shop Plus they have a very cool "White Dragon" logo.

If you want to quit - just quit. Don't punish yourself with that plastic crap.
I roll my tobacco using cigarete tubes. Currently it's "Van Nelle" (they say it is from Holland) 40g for 2.5 euros.

What the above article fails to mention is that the FDA's study that found diethylene glycol in ECigs, were at levels well below the allowable levels set forth by the FDA.
Studies on the e-cig show that electronic cigarettes contain 8.2ng/g of tobacco-specific nitrosamines versus 11,180ng/g in the leading tobacco cigarette, which the FDA's own study does not refute:
http://www.costacigs.com/e-cigs-contain-antifreeze

I'd be more scared of a can of Coca-Cola than what can be found in trace levels in an e-cig. But let me throw in one concern I do have; Most the liquid you find for e-cigs are produced in China. China doesn't quite have the best reputation for giving you 100% pure ingredients.

Life is like a box of cancer - never know what you're ganna get.
We can choose our poison - that's the beauty of it.
...
Tes I am softer than that - I still use filters.
Very Happy
As one old man said once - when you inhale that it burns your liver but at least you know what you're smoking.
