So I saw Beck's performance one week ago... it was great!

A part of what was written in the Montreal Gazette:
The first song set the tone. Beck came out blazing to the tune of his 1994 breakout smash Loser. Never mind keeping the big hits for the end, and never mind most of the singer's folky acoustic meanderings. The entire first half (and really most) of the set was a non-stop party. The irony, if you're looking for it, was in the delivery. Dressed in peasant chic, including a black brimmed hat, black jacket, vest and white shirt, his gold locks falling to his shoulders, the veteran anti-hipster stood motionless at centre stage, while he and his band hit fans with an unrelenting barrage of upbeat tracks. Only the hint of a benevolent grin let on that he was having fun. The audience responded in kind, rising to its feet from the first notes, and not sitting down for the rest of the show.

Surprised Cool! Cool
They were on stage with Beck the other time.
Late in the show, Beck invited out openers MGMT (young glam-pop-psych-rock buzz-band du jour) for a set
of covers of songs by post-punk pioneers Wire, T.Rex, Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan. He was bringing in the new kids
to play tribute to the old masters. On this night, Beck fell somewhere in between.
