Check out these guys......can't put Xiu Xiu in a box either and most definitely not everyone's cup o tea.

Thanks Paul!

Nice vids! Very Happy
Charles Mingus was one of the jazz masters, like John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis... the kind of artist who brought an immeasurable contribution to what jazz became.
Joseph Arthur... one of today's best!

I talk once about Eivin Aarset (another one from Norway)... one of my favorite guitarist. I found those links:

A great album.

Here, 2 vids from one of my favorite band... Elbow:

Now... entertainment...

Some funk from the 90s... Weapon of Choice:

Something funny... not crazy about Daft Punk... neither about charsleston dance, but this clip is hilarious...

Very Happy

That was ALL GOOD Claf, the Weapon of Choice tune reminded me of the RH chilipeppers a little, it had that cool funk sound, I see where MJ got some of his moves, it was those Charleston dancers Wink Laughing

Haaa! Shocked
I saw her live last month! She made the first part at Arcade Fire's show. The same dress... that picture was surely taken there, we can see a little detail of AF stage setting. I mean this year, the same tour. She was great! She's from Texas. She was on stage with her birdcage like on the video.

She made me think about Tracy Bonham...

Cas Haley was on America's Got Talent last night. Stupid show really, but every once in a while a diamond shines. These guys rock, I wish I could find him doing the song he did on the show.
He did a solo acoustic reggae version of "walking on the moon" by Sting. Shocked I was blown away.

they have a myspace account too

check them out if you're into Blues/Reggae!

Haven't listened to much of Mingus's work....but I think I will now...that was great. Thanks Paul Very Happy Can always listen to more jazz.

Yessss, Claf.....I love Elbow I think they are a bit underappreciated . I saw them live some years back.....good stuff. They opened for
Doves

of which I will never tire of. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moAIaLbcKb0&mode=related&search=

St. Vincent...hmm...never heard that before. I kinda like it. She sounds to be a pretty good guitar player....or maby just a noodler. Heh...I thought of PJ Harvey also, Claf.

HENDRIX Cool Cool Twisted Evil I've often wondered what the music world of today would be like if he had never existed ,taking into account
his huge influence on many, many guitar players throughout the years................hmmmmm.......What do you think.....would it be any different?

ok ....another very under-appreciated band and one of my faves of the last couple decades.....
