How did you get your PSC nickname?
Kansas is Home.

What is your real name and age?
Kathy.....Lets just say I graduated highschool when Goat1981 was born! lol

Where are you from and what do you like best about being there?
USA- Kansas... That I'm home again...dare I say it, "There's no place like home."

What do you do to keep the bills paid?
I don't think I can put that in writing!

What do you do in your spare time?
Duh.. PSC.

How did you find PSC, and what do you like most about the site?
Googled Photoshop stuff and found it. I like the fact it's like belongling to a cool club and the people are from all over the world.

If you could change one thing at PSC, what would it be and why?
That's easy..Scionshade! Just kdding brother Scion.. Couldn't resist.

Is there any other information about you would like to pass on?
If you want to learn photoshop and improve your skills you are in the right place.

How many hours per week do you spend on PSC?
too much... From oct 05- Feb 06 I spent sometimes 12 hours a day... Not that much anymore, but I learned a ton.

What other sites, not Photoshop related, do you like to surf?
Sometimes enjoy watching u-tube videos.

What tools do you use to chop?
Photoshop CS2

What gets your creative juices flowing, how do you create a masterpiece?
Try to stay out of the way and let it flow through to the screen.

What inspires you?
A good solid source.

Do you have a system? Does a chop have to be done a certain way following steps or are you a messy chopper and just go with the flow?
Go with the flow.

What style of chop do you prefer to create?
A good funny chop is my favorite. Or one that says something.

Filters, brushes and techniques: Which do you use, and not use, and why?
I use everything I know how to use up to this point. Would like to know more about gifs. Shaman makes them seem fun.

When do you know that you have it just right, or is it constant changes up until, or after, you post?
It's a great feeling to just know it's good. If I have to ask is this good? What do you think? Is this right? Usually means I know in my heart it's not right. That's a great feeling to finally get when you are done. That took several months to trust that.

What is the limit to what you will chop?
Probably bloody bad taste images.

Are there any tips and/or tricks that you would like to pass along to less experienced choppers?
Use only high quality source pictures. So if you google images...select the large images and only choose from those pictures. Never use the lower ones... Ruins the chop.

What is your favorite type of source image, and why?
I like objects... It seems they call to me.

There is often talk about how the source is used and to what extent it should be. What are your views on all sources, outside source use and animations?
I've found if you distort the source too much then people kind of pass it by. That is even if you've done a bunch of work. You can be too clever.

What is your preferred resource for outside source images?
I've taken shots with my camera. Mostly I google large images for chopping.

In your opinion what makes a good chop?
Clean work. Changing it completely, but seeing the source clearly.

Do you have a system to get things started?
It starts from inside of me. If I get a good feeling about a source then I will chop it. If I like the source or the idea I have then it's like hanging out with a friend for several hours.

Have you ever completed a chop and then decided not to enter it in the contest? If so, why?
No... But I wish I would have on some of them lol...Those would be the stinkers...

After you finish your chop do you just post it or seek opinions of family and/or fellow choppers first?
I just post it. The first several months I'd ask. Well I do still ask little Kansas. She's a harsh critic. If he says go for it.. It normally does great.

If some one finds a fault in your work do you change it or stay with what you posted?
Depends on who says it.

What qualities do you look for when deciding to vote on a chop?
Clean, crisp images... We all know how to use filters and such to help make an image look better, but when the skills shine through, it's a beautiful thing.

Some member prefer not to vote for filtered chops or animations. Is there any particular style/type of chop you won't vote for?
I try to support everyone I can. I really don't like voting for bad taste or bloody images.

Time is always a factor, how much time do you spend on a chop and how much time is too much?
It ususally takes me hours no matter what. I don't seem to know any shortcuts. Too much is if it goes past 2 days of chopping on the same source.

We all love to get votes. Now are you a constant vote checker or do you just let it go and check once a day? (be honest)
Love seeing the votes and seeing what goes well and what does not.

What chop of yours did not do as well as you expected?

What do you consider your best chop so far?
http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/99402/kansas-meets-micose.html

What do you consider your worst chop so far?
Can I say Stooopid with 3 0's http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/89439/the-fall-of-man.html

Who is your favorite chopper out there and why?
Can't say...There are far too many favorites to mention just a couple. You guys are my favorite for different reasons.

What do you NOT like to see in a chop, and why not?
Hate the bad taste and bloody horrible chops.

What is the best chop of all time?
I can't really say.. this is one of the most moving posts.. Wonderful http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/85486/forever.html

Do you have any other PSC related comments to add?
