Hey everyone. Been stalking your site for a few weeks now and it's really helped me, particularly cause I'm the one in charge for making my band's concert posters.

Quick question though...if one makes a chop (ie. the aforementioned poster), where would one post said chop so that one could get criticism and advice? Is there such a forum?

Anyways, great site and I'll probably stick around since...well...I've got nothing better to do at work.

Cheers.

Oh great! Thanks!

Basically I took this source...

...and turned it into this...thing...

It's in spanish but I don't think it matters much.

...not crazy about the arrow....

You want my honest opinion?

I have been a graphic designer for awhile, and your work is pretty good.

What I suggest is the type (font) needs to be worked on a little more.

It sort of throws the whole concept off a little.

Just my opinion.

Maybe try not to use a grunge font.

Maybe a cleaner font.

Also, maybe try not use a stroke around the type.

Sometimes people over do it with stokes and shadows.

Just trying to help.

Hey thanks. Smile

Yeah honest opinion is what I'm after, otherwise I can't improve.

I'll get to work on those fixes tomorrow. Thanks for the help and I'll let you know how it's coming along to see if I can squeeze more pointers out of you ^^

nice. i say loose the arrow and its good... & I like the font

I think the red napkin is a great touch. the rest I'd soften the color, or maybe go to a mustard yellow? old fash look? thats my 2cents

anyway.. good stuff! you should be entering the contests (if you have the time... but be warned they are addictive) Laughing
hope we see the final.

Taking a second look, I do agree with Sean, lose the arrow. It isn't really necessary.

Yep...lose the arrow.
Not particularly fond of the font...although I think it would be better if it wasn't "stroked" so much...maybe go thinner...other than that...I like the overall design concept.
Very Happy

I agree" and if you are using the arrow, make it thinner with clean edges" or even a hand in that style with index finger pointing at the band name" Cool overall good job though" Wink

ok I am trying to remember my subliminal advert course...I would

Angle the wedge of the lemon in the glass (3 ice cubes also angled and clumped sorta)

Change the Font to match the coffee cup font its cleaner and I would make the background solid black behind the table, the lettering white and the coffee cup words a shade of dark green its hard to look and not do so it may look like shit..I usually just play around.. or not Confused Shocked lose the arrow the color will draw the eye

good luck with it love to see what you end up with Smile

I like your poster a lot...and I like the arrow. Know why? Because it gives that busy picture a focal point. I'm not saying the picture is too busy but the eye's not certain where to look...there's pictures of guys, a table, stuff on the table, lettering...and the point you're trying to make is....Hey, there's a concert and here's where it's at.

Graphic design is all about communication.

Don't toss that arrow... Cool ...unless you want to.

oh, yeah, welcome to PSC!
