Is it possible after making a vector shap to remove a section out of the middle of it? Example, say you made a circle and wanted to cut a smaller circle out of the middle to make a doughnut. I've noticed that if you turn text into vector shapes the lower case e will have that cut out in the middle of it. How do you do that?!?!?!?

If you're using illustrator, make sure your inside circle is on top of the larger one (but on the same layer), select both, go to Object-->compound path-->make.
