do u think that the title of an entry is important for the final and overall
result?

well, i think it helps, especially if it aptly describes the entry, or is punny or funny. Sometimes the title is the icing on the cake!

however, if your brain is tired I guess "..." will have to work. kinda like the no comment vote. do you prefer they say something or do you like the "..."? scratch

and if it's a gif - having that in the title just may grab more attention.... how many times have you seen someone comment that they skipped over an entry several times not knowing it was a gif.

the title is another way to advertise what may be inside... like "come have a look"

take Serps' titles for example.

A lot of them are stating exactly what the entry is: flowers, unicorn, pool, motorbike,
candle
http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/92267/candle.html
splodge
http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/85308/splodge.html

but then other times the title is in jest.

like Mighty Steed
http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/118010/mighty-steed.html

or Nature Spotting
http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/123821/nature-spotting.html

or Need Smaller Clippers
http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/102282/need-smaller-clippers-.html

Then he's got some entries that just seem beyond words -- or titles

like Untitled

not necessarily... take naiko's portfolio for example... he does a wonderful job expressing a feeling through the digital painting itself.... and a good majority of them are labeled as just a DOT ( . ) or a number... i have had an entry win w/ a comma ( , ) for a title... granted that was an error message i kept getting after trying to change it from the comma. but i feel people got the message i achieved from the design of my chop. this is just my opinion.

Yep. Absolutely. A catchy title tops off a good chop.

I do.

I think of it more like the title to my book, and the chop is my cover art.
