How did you get your PSC nickname?
I have always been a fan of bond films. I was also a CB radio user in my teens cruising around in my HQ Holden sedan (google it). My call sign was 007. Most of the sites that I frequent, where a member name is required are adorned with "jefflang007". Not very original I know...

What is your real name and age?
Jeff LANG - born early 70's

Where are you from and what do you like best about being there?
Adelaide, South Australia. It is a smallish city were there a limited degrees of separation. Every one knows someone you know (is that a good thing). Sadly the film industry is bigger in the eastern states.

What do you do to keep the bills paid?
Australian government.

What do you do in your spare time?
My love is theatre work, mainly that of the musical variety. I have limited spare time now days so i rarely (never) do community shows. All my gigs now are paid work (good when you can get it). My main place to relax is on the lounge. I love my shows and waste away many hours enjoying them. I just find that it takes me out of reality for a few short hours. I often describe is as checking my brain at the door

How did you find PSC, and what do you like most about the site?
surfing oneday. (my computer got really wet)..no really I always made birthday cards fro folks at work by chopping their heads onto bods of celebrities. One day I was searching for a tut and found PSC. The thing I love about the site is the sense of friendship from the regulars that you have never met in the flesh. (sadly eve..emphasis on flesh)

If you could change one thing at PSC, what would it be and why?
I would win on the odd occasion..no really.. I think I would make all chops anonymous until the completion date (like the contest days). I think this may eliminate the issues that often occur with favoritism (or so called)

Is there any other information about you would like to pass on?
i don't have hep c.

How many hours per week do you spend on PSC?
not enough, sadly now days.

What other sites, not Photoshop related, do you like to surf?

What tools do you use to chop?
PS5, win7

What gets your creative juices flowing, how do you create a masterpiece?
Um, this one is hard. I have a warped thought process. I guess i like stand alone objects the most. Due to my limited time to chop I try to keep my chops simple and look for simple sources. I only wish i had the time to spend hours perfecting a chop.

What inspires you?
I am inspired to shop when I look at a source and know straight away what I want to do.

Do you have a system? Does a chop have to be done a certain way following steps or are you a messy chopper and just go with the flow?
If I like a source but can not see my goal straight away I pop it in Photoshop and rotate it and look at it from all angles

What style of chop do you prefer to create?
I have always been the class clown so I love the clever but funny chops. I also love the chops that look like they were meant to be.

Filters, brushes and techniques: Which do you use, and not use, and why?
I use clone, blur and skin blend (bandaid) alot. I do not use a great deal i filters but when I do I find I am after a certain look and will sift through them for ages for the right one. I don't use the filters that are obvious that they are filter filters. (read it again that does make sense)

When do you know that you have it just right, or is it constant changes up until, or after, you post?
No. when I am done that is it. I have a couple of times made small changes or renamed the title after suggestions from other choppers.

What is the limit to what you will chop?
I have no boundaries.. I will chop anything. still it can never be as bad as what goes on in macro's head.

Are there any tips and/or tricks that you would like to pass along to less experienced choppers?
1) Use noisware if you have a grainy image that you need to embiggen to import into the source image you are working on. 2) If you have an image you need to do lots of fine detail on then enlarge it to 300dpi, work on it and then reduce when you "save for web"

What is your favorite type of source image, and why?
this has kind of been answered. I am not a massive fan of landscapes. Give me an object any day.

There is often talk about how the source is used and to what extent it should be. What are your views on all sources, outside source use and animations?
I am ok with all source but think some times it is poorly done just to make an average abstract piece of art (boring). I will rarely vote on an animated GIF (they have to be pretty funny to score my vote). Personally I think there should be no A/Gifs on PSC.

What is your preferred resource for outside source images?
Google image search is my image god. once in a blue moon i will take a shot with my own camera.

In your opinion what makes a good chop?
simplicity that rocks. You do not need to spend hours chopping to be amazing!

Do you have a system to get things started?
I search for my external sources first to know I have all the tools I need for my chop. I hate to get to the end and find I cant find that screnungin valve I have been looking for.

Have you ever completed a chop and then decided not to enter it in the contest? If so, why?
Yeah, many times sadly. My best laid plans have often failed. If I really love a source I will persevere and start again with a completely different theme.

After you finish your chop do you just post it or seek opinions of family and/or fellow choppers first?
Some times i will ask the bride if i feel there is a certain something missing. I have only asked fellow choppers when engaged together on a team chop.

If some one finds a fault in your work do you change it or stay with what you posted?
It depends if i feel it is warranted, but yes i am not to proud to make a change.

What qualities do you look for when deciding to vote on a chop?
Originality, something that required the person to actually think about what they chopped. Eg, not just putting a mouse in a trap cause that is the most obvious thing. Turning the mouse's ear into a mountain is far more imaginative. (poor example i know but your get the idea)

Some member prefer not to vote for filtered chops or animations. Is there any particular style/type of chop you won't vote for?
As earlier stated, I rarely vote for animations. I look at all styles but wont vote just cause its is "joe blows" or because majority rules.

Time is always a factor, how much time do you spend on a chop and how much time is too much?
if you have the time then chop till you are happy with it. Now for me family comes first which leaves me little time to chop. When i get a break from it all i will spend about two hours on average on a chop. I have spent up to 5-6 on some.

We all love to get votes. Now are you a constant vote checker or do you just let it go and check once a day? (be honest)
I check constantly. Still waiting for that elusive win. I have a competitive streak and like to do well at things.

What chop of yours did not do as well as you expected?
"Memories from the deep" I spent ages on that chop. It was at team chop time however and votes in comps are always odd.

What do you consider your best chop so far?
"Still on track!" that took the longest of all my chops. I was really pleased with the way it developed and finished up. well and "the A.M.J(in a blizzard)" that was my finest hour......

What do you consider your worst chop so far?
http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/79686/display.html it was an untiteled one in my early days. We have all done the "source in art chop", now i find this kind of thing fairly unoriginal.

Who is your favorite chopper out there and why?
This is hard. When first coming to PSC I was blown away of the talents of Anfa and Marco. They are still up there for me. Rey Rey and billtvshow are also faves. There are to many.. ask me the lotto numbers next week.

What do you NOT like to see in a chop, and why not?
maggots...what oh you mean a PSC chop, um dunno, um, I think political stuff cause it doesn't have the same effect/meaning in other countries.

What is the best chop of all time?
http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/59099/display.html by yerpalal pure simplistic genius.

Do you have any other PSC related comments to add?
every time you vote for me an angel gets its wings, especially when I am in second place....
